Once you've got everything you need, you can lay the groundwork for your insulation by installing plywood intended for holding your insulation materials in place. Next, it's time to lay building wraps over this sheathing, before attaching the insulation to the wraps. The sheets should be overlapped to ensure that the entire surface of the roof is covered for maximum efficacy, as well as to prevent water from forming between the gaps.

Your insulation sheets will then need to be stapled securely to the fixings; staples are a great choice because they're firm but also reversible if insulation materials need swapping or correcting at a later date. You can then measure out and place your insulation materials, before covering the sheets with duct tape. Be sure to leave small gaps in the tape to provide breathing space and prevent a buildup of moisture. The metal roof panels can then be laid over the insulation and the job is done.
